"I believe in making a difference. My skill set and experience will allow me to give back to this community.
As a child, I wanted to be a princess. However, my princess was always changing the world and giving back. I believe that people are the basis of society and change must start with the representation of those people.
When you think back to great leaders, which ones do you remember? Which ones made a lasting difference?
For me, it is the ones who made tough but fair decisions. They expected a lot from themselves and I found myself striving to do the same. It causes my own standards to rise.
I feel when people stay silent, they are actually part of the problem rather than the solution. I wish more people who felt they could make beneficial changes would step forward."

Jodie Gateman is a candidate from southern Alberta. A farmer’s wife and mother of four, Jodie is raising fourth-generation farmers while owning and operating a mixed agricultural enterprise near Mossleigh, Alberta.

Clear, accurate communication is a core principle in Jodie’s work, supporting informed decision-making for individuals, communities, and the province. A frequently used guiding statement is: “You can never take for granted that communication has taken place, no matter how many times you’ve said it.”

Jodie’s experience includes public relations, strategic planning, quality control, and marketing, providing versatility and the ability to contribute effectively in a wide range of team environments and circumstances.

Born and raised in Alberta, Jodie attended the University of Dallas and holds a Ph.D. along with multiple professional certificates. Trained as an educator, Jodie later expanded into entrepreneurship and business ownership.

Reorganizational skills and training system development place Jodie in consistent demand, and speaking engagements have taken Jodie to audiences across North America. Each project benefits from the practical knowledge and collaborative approach Jodie brings.
