The Gateman family has firm roots in Alberta history, starting with Norman Gateman and his farm, started in 1928 just SE of Mossleigh, AB.
The Gateman Farm will achieve its 100th year in 2028.
N.Bruce Gateman started his farm just 2 km south of his dad's farm, and today it boasts 3 generations actively farming the land.
The farm is a mixed cattle and grain farm, growing beef and grains to feed the world.
It is often said on the farm, "We make steak and beer what is your super power?"
Bruce had 2 children: one daughter and one son (Glen).
Glen Gateman got a degree in Ag Science from the U of A and returned home in 1994 with the intent of continuing in the farming tradition.
He and Jodie (Thornhill) GATEMAN were married in 1996 and welcomed 4 children into the world between 1997 and 2015; three boys and one daughter (deceased).
There oldest son recently got married to his beautiful wife, Becky on the family farm. He works in the 911 dispatch centre and is a firefighter with Rockyview & Vulcan County. He has brought the Gateman's first grandchild into the family.
Second son (aka: middle child) came back on the farm after doing secondary schooling in Lethbridge, AB and is continuing the farming tradition working on the family farm while having his own farming corporation.
Daughter, Wren, has passed on and watches over the family from above.
The third son is nine and You-tuber is the profession choice today.
